What exactly is a wall mural?
We would describe it as a beautifully bespoke piece of art, hand-painted directly on to your wall.
What is the process?
First of all, say hello! Once you’ve been in contact we will schedule a first consultation when we can discuss exactly what you are looking for. Ahead of that if you send us pictures of the wall and room where the mural will be and share any photos, pictures and Pinterest boards you may have, that would be really helpful. After this, we can discuss whether a home visit is necessary. We’ll then be able to provide you with a quote and some suggested designs and if you are happy then we can discuss the when, the where, and the how.
How long does it take?
This is completely dependent on the size, scale, and intricacy of the design. We would say between 1 and 3 days is usual, however let’s not forget location which will impact travel time and therefore cost.
How much will it cost?
The price will vary in line with the time needed to paint your mural. Prices start at £250 and include an initial consultation and site visit (if necessary), design collaboration and a mock up of elements of the mural, all paint materials, the actual painting and of course travel.
Do we paint the wall on which the mural will be painted?
The short answer is no. We will more than happily guide you on what colour to paint the room or wall but our enjoyment comes from painting the mural that will sit on top.
What wall preparation do you need to do?
Provided the wall is in good condition (by that we mean there are no damp issues, cracks, peeling paint, or plaster) and is the right background colour you won’t need to do a thing.
Do we just paint murals on walls or will we consider other surfaces?
We will happily paint the backs (or fronts) of doors, furniture or do a standalone painting for mounting or hanging but we are no Michelangelo’s so for us ceilings are out of scope for the time being. However, watch this space you never know.
Can we help with the overall design and look of the room?
Whilst we’re not interior designers we have a good eye for colour, space and style and can help create a space you and your little monkey(s) will enjoy. Depending on how involved you need us to be there will obviously be a cost element to consider.
Would we consider doing a mixed media mural?
We’re more than happy to explore colour, texture and mixed media designs. We love to experiment and if we can make it happen we will.
